If I think about my most significant moments, many were foisted upon me. When I was 22, my parents didn’t want me to shack up with my boyfriend, and so we got married. I think we would have gotten married eventually, but the parental guilt certainly drove our timeline. In career, I had always fantasized about being an entrepreneur, but it wasn’t until I lost my fancy new job during the 2008 financial crash that I made up business cards, pursued consulting work and ended up in a start up venture.
