Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men comes to mind - "You can't handle the truth!"... Not easy to accept and face some of our deepest truths... 'cause then I guess we'd have to act on them ... make some tough decisions and potentially scary changes... might be better than denial, numbing out, turning to "stuff" or sleep walking through life though;) The other side of a shit tunnel can be pretty spectacular.
