The truth is, you don’t struggle with depression, you struggle with the reality we live in.
- Keanu Reeves
Many wise people say we must manage the struggle in our minds, first and foremost. If we can adjust our expectations/mindset/reactions, we may uncover a new reality. Just sayin’ :) Hug.

Your own universe...
I really belive in the philosophy that you create your own universe.
- Jim Carrey (Canadian-American actor, comedian, impressionist, screenwriter, producer, painter and winner of two Golden Globes).
May wise people echo this sentiment. Apparently, we have to believe that we can have a bigger impact on our lives. If we do, we can create more of what we want and less of what we don’t want. Just sayin’ :) Hugs.

Cease to react...
If you are willing to look at another person’s behaviour toward you as a reflection of the state of their relationship with themselves rather than a statement about your value as a person, then you will, over a period of time cease to react at all.
- Yogi Bhajan (A yogi spiritual teacher and entrepreneur who introduced Kundalini Yoga to the US. Bhajan was founder and director of 3HO (Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization), with over 300 centers in 35 countries).
In my experience, this takes practice and perhaps some professional assistance. The problem is, our “triggers” can have very, very deep roots from our upbringing and experiences to date. For example, people who have been cheated on, often struggle to trust in their next relationship. The whiplash of post traumatic stress can take a while to recover from. Just sayin’ :) Hugs.

Your happiness...
Don’t ever feel bad for making a decision that upsets other people. You are not responsible for their happiness. You are responsible for your happiness.
- Isaiah Hankel (a Ph.D. in Anatomy and Cell Biology and internationally recognized Fortune 500 consultant. Hankel says if you feel stuck in your career, make a change and know that experimentation is the best teacher. He says “nothing you do matters until you know where you’re going. Find your focus and happiness and success will follow.”)
This is great career advice. I struggle with putting myself first on a more personal level. I’d love to dig in a bit more and see what Dr Hankel says regarding family and friends because in my experience there is a risk of fall-out with loved ones. Just sayin’ :) Hugs.

You are you...
Nobody is superior, nobody is inferior, but nobody is equal either.
People are simply unique, incomparable.
You are you, I am I.
- Osho (an Indian godman and public speaker, whose teachings emphasized the importance of awareness, love, celebration, courage, creativity and humour - qualities that he viewed as being suppressed by adherence to static belief systems, religious tradition and socialization).
We are critiqued and compared to others from such a young age and I guess we continue to do so, unless we re-think our intentions. We can’t be someone else, given our genetics, upbringing, and life experiences. All we can do is be the best version of ourselves. Just sayin’ :) Hugs.

Our minds...
It is possible to choose peace over worry.
- Unknown
They say our mind believes whatever we tell it, so we should be aware of what’s going on up there ;) The good news is, we’re supposed to be able to re-program our belief systems and set new and potentially exciting “intentions.” Just sayin’ :) Hugs.

Experience...
Experience is the hardest kind of teacher. It gives you the test first and the lesson afterward.
- Oscar Wild
It’s hard to look back on some of our “mistakes”; the wrong relationships, something we shouldn’t have said, something we should have said, allowing ourselves to be influenced against our better judgement, on and on. They say forgiving ourselves is even more important than forgiving others. Just sayin’ :) Hugs.
