The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.
- Elisabeth Kubler Ross (Swiss-American psychiatrist, pioneer in near-death studies and Author of the groundbreaking book On Death and Dying, where she first discussed her theory of the five stages of grief. She was a 2007 inductee into the American National Women's Hall of Fame and recipient of 20 honorary degrees).
Kinda leaves one speechless. Just sayin' :)
