My parents were overly protective (big fears), which instilled certain anxieties in me, unfortunately. They also relied on tough love and tended to punish somewhat excessively. Ouch. I certainly learned how to be considerate, friendly and polite, which is a positive. I also learned how to over-function though, which sometimes prevents me from relaxing fully. It’s taken me years and years (and much therapy, time and money) to reverse certain tendencies and defence mechanisms. Just sayin’ :) Hugs. XO
